Rich Internet Applications

Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) enhance user experience, increasing productivity and customer satisfaction. RIAs can be deployed across your browser and desktop to give ultimate flexibility.

  • The next generation of web interaction.
  • Offer users a richer, more engaging experience.
  • Rich user interface capabilities.
  • Increase customer loyalty and generate higher profits.
  • Leverage existing personnel, processes, and infrastructure.

Arum has been involved in the development of Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) since the term came into use in 2002, working alongside RIA evangelists, iteration::two, Macromedia and Adobe on numerous projects. Since 2007 Arum have been Adobe partners and have offered our expertise to clients on a professional services basis.

Our team has particular experience in the delivery of RIA applications and in their development using Adobe's LiveCycle products and associated tools such as Flex, LiveCycle Data Services and Cairngorm.

Arum are very excited to be working with the latest Adobe Labs solutions including Adobe Edge and Adobe Wallaby:

Adobe Edge is an intuitive tool for creating motion content that runs beautifully on mobile devices and desktop browsers. It features an easy to use interface, with a properties-based timeline for impeccable accuracy and control. Create new compositions, import and animate existing web graphics, or add motion to existing HTML files without compromising integrity.

Adobe "Wallaby" is the codename for an experimental technology that converts the artwork and animation contained in Adobe® Flash® Professional <http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/> (FLA) files into HTML. This allows you to reuse and extend the reach of your content to devices that do not support the Flash runtimes. Once these files are converted to HTML, you can edit them with an HTML editing tool, such asAdobe Dreamweaver® <http://www.adobe.com/products/dreamweaver/> , or by hand if desired. You can view the output in one of the supported browsers or on an iOS device.

These new solutions will allow us to maintain our 'Design Lead Innovation' skills in order to continue to develop 'cutting edge' applications for multiple platforms/devices: web, tablets and smartphones.

In addition working with Adobe and our partners we continue to embrace the new technology made available to us by recent acquisitions made by Adobe. An example being PhoneGap an HTML5 app platform that allows us to author native applications with web technologies and get access to APIs and app stores.

If you have an application in mind that may be suitable for  development as a rich internet application,

please contact us to discuss.
